Cripple Creek Jasper Necklace | Oregon
Terra: Cripple Creek Jasper, Oregon
Storia: Cripple Creek Jasper is a variety of Owyhee Picture Jasper, which comes from the Owyhee Mountains near the Oregon/Idaho border. It is an opaque form of chalcedony and is renowned for its beautiful scenery that evokes the feeling of a high desert landscape. It's a hard stone - about 7 on the Mohs scale. This stunning cabochon was cut by Bill of Roadcut Gems.
Necklace details: This gorgeous piece of picture jasper is bezel set with fine silver (99%) and features a topographic map backplate. The map section is taken from the Owyhee Mountain area. Several charms made with both sterling silver and copper wire and stone beads accentuate the stone. The pendant is 0.9" W by 3.25" L (including charms) and the chain is 17" long with a 2" extender. Outside of the charms, all metal is sterling silver and all components are handmade by me, except for the chain.
