Owyhee Picture Jasper Necklace | Oregon
Owyhee Picture Jasper Necklace | Oregon
Terra: Owyhee Picture Jasper, Oregon
Storia: Owyhee Picture Jasper comes from the Owyhee Mountains near the Oregon/Idaho border. It is an opaque form of chalcedony and is renowned for its beautiful scenery that evokes the feeling of a high desert landscape. It's a hard stone - about 7 on the Mohs scale. This stunning cabochon was cut by me in my home lapidary studio.
Necklace details: This gorgeous piece of picture jasper is bezel set with fine silver (99%) and features a topographic map backplate. The map section is taken from the Owyhee River area. The pendant is 1.2" W by 1.7" L and the chain is 21" long with a 2" extender. Outside of the charms, all metal is sterling silver and all components are handmade by me, except for the chain.
